Junior Scientist - To the Moon and Back!
Calling all aspiring scientists! Join Lakeside science teacher Mrs. Greer and Lakeside parent Mrs. Goodheart for an exciting afternoon of space-based science exploration! Your Junior Scientist will explore propulsion by making two types of rockets, creating moon craters, making their very own comet and more! Students will also have the opportunity to make and eat their own space-themed snacks, including Oreo moon phases, adding a delicious twist to the day's adventures. Plus, each participant will take home a goodie bag filled with surprises to continue the fun at home. Don't miss this opportunity for out-of-this-world fun!

Challah with Hila

Skilsaws and Decks
Get ready to roll up your sleeves for a hands-on 'Skilsaws and Decks' workshop with Dr. Sean Joyce and Kirk Rowe! You'll learn the ins and outs of deck building while contributing to a special project for our school.
Under the expert guidance of Lakeside Elementary’s Facilities Manager extraordinaire, Mr. Rowe, you'll master essential skills to create a sturdy and beautiful deck. Not only will you gain valuable knowledge and experience, but you'll also have the satisfaction of knowing that you're making a tangible difference in our school community. A delicious and sustaining lunch will be provided. Together, you'll build a deck that will provide a gathering space for students and enhance the beauty of our campus. Guided Wildflower Hike with Lakeside Community Members Chris & Bill Green
Russian Ridge Wildflower Hike led by retired Lakeside Teacher, Chris Green, and her husband Bill Green on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 9:30 am.
Russian Ridge Trails are noted for their spectacular Spring wildflower displays. Join Chris and Bill Green on a 3.5 mile hike up and down the rolling hills as you explore the open meadow and oak woodland habitats in search of wildflowers. This is more than a short stroll in the woods so come ready for an enjoyable and invigorating hike. An added extra are the expansive views of the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Ocean from Borel Hill in Russian Ridge.
Bill and Chris will provide a light snack along the way. You will need to bring your own filled water bottle. Wear sturdy shoes, dress in layers as temperatures and wind can vary. It could be cool and windy or hot and sunny so sunscreen protection is recommended. A hat can be helpful. Along the way you might want to take photos.
We’ll meet at the Russian Ridge parking lot at 9:30 am. If you travel north on Skyline Blvd. turn left onto Alpine Road (opposite Page Mill Road) and you’ll see the parking lot on your right. Restrooms are available in the parking lot. Please allow sufficient travel time. For example, it is about 17 miles from Lakeside going up Black Road to Skyline Blvd. to Russian Ridge.
